The Mudcat Golf Tournament giving $37,000 to five organizations in the area.
The 9th hole of the tournament benefitted the Homeless Veterans Housing Project; they received $7,000 today.
“What you don’t see is what happens at the four organizations because of this wonderful effort and time that puts in because of child and Catholic Charities, the moms and dads, grandparents, they don’t have to sit at the kitchen table and wonder where the next meal is going to come from,” said Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Binghamton Marybeth Smith. “They know there’s going to be food on the table the next morning. The kids are happy. They’re smiling, and moms and dads are just feeling, you know, a little relief.”
CHOW, Broome County Urban League, Boys and Girls Club of Binghamton and Catholic Charities of Broome County all walking away with $7,500 each.
