A public golf training facility with a full-service restaurant and bar are set to open on Springfield’s west side next month. The facility’s owners has some Jacksonville ties. Eagle Golf and Grill is set to open at 3941 Pintail Drive, at the former home of Pickups Plus. The Springfield Business Journal says that Jim Lee along with is wife Amber Lee will co-own the business with Josh Edison. Edison is currently the head golf coach at Illinois College. Not everyone has access to Fort Jackson’s golf courses. The courses can only be accessed by active duty military members, their family members and veterans. But starting this weekend, civilians can gain access to the greens. Fort Jackson, the country’s largest Army training base, has decided to open the courses to the public for daily play.
